The weekend kicked off with a nostalgic Friday night out around Madison, followed by the annual BSAA board planning meeting Saturday morning.
Steak Night festivities got underway with beverages and several games of pool at Smitty’s Study Pub. Across the hall, we dined in the Monona Room, enjoying a prime rib dinner and cheesecake.
The BSAA extends its gratitude to all attendees and special thanks to Curt Klinkner for running a management and leadership training session for the board.
Phi Kap Christmas is coming!
Can you believe we’re nearly halfway through December? Before you know it, Christmas will be here, complete with lights, stockings, presents under the tree and Phi Kaps.
That’s right! Join us on Dec. 23 for our annual holiday gathering.
We’ll kick things off at 7 p.m. at Hillside Lanes in Racine, so grab your ugliest Christmas sweater and join us for a night of bowling and brotherhood. Cost is $15/person.
Along with some friendly competition, we’ll have pizza and our white elephant beer exchange. Grab a six pack or bomber, wrap it up like a present and join in the fun!*
*Must be over 21 to participate
We’ll finish the festivities with a night out in downtown Racine.
It was a little later than usual this year, but Homecoming was a blast for both alumni and undergraduates as usual.
How’s that for a Lambeau Leap?!?
About a dozen UW Phi Kaps took in Wisconsin’s 16-14 win over LSU in Green Bay, including several that also attended Bucky’s Block Party downtown Friday night and the UW Alumni Association Badger Huddle at Anduzzis’s before the game.
Eight alumni met up in Denver, drove to the mountains and had a fun weekend filled with skiing, beer tasting and distillery tours.
Nearly 50 parents, alumni and undergraduates attended the ninth annual Parent-Alumni Banquet on Saturday, April 16 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Madison.
At its annual meeting prior to the banquet, the BSAA elected Jackson Ward ’15 and Jacob Lake ’15 to the board of directors. Craig Bolyard ’11 also was re-elected for another four-year term.
Brian Schaeffer ’10 was re-elected as president, and Ted Jacobs ’13 took over as the board’s new treasurer.
Please join us in welcoming our newest members and officers, and help us thank Michael Hilla ’99 and Andrew Dolan ’10 for their service on the BSAA board, as well as Jeremy Sorenson ’10 for his service as treasurer.
This year’s event was at a new location: Capitol Chophouse, 9 E Wilson Street.
More than 40 alumni, undergraduates and potential new members gathered for a great night of steak and brotherhood.
On Dec. 26, 12 alumni and 2 undergraduates got together in Racine for a night of pizza and bowling.
What started as a small group of local alumni has grown into a highly anticipated annual tradition.
Part of the event also included a white-elephant beer gift exchange.
